Overview
A letter from HMRC can feel alarming. We read it, explain what it asks and what it means for you, and act as your agent from there. You get measured advice, steady communication and a fee agreed upfront.

- Voluntary disclosure: If something needs correcting, we prepare the disclosure carefully.

HMRC investigation questions
Should I be worried if HMRC writes to me?
Not necessarily. HMRC opens many enquiries as routine checks, often on a single issue, and many are resolved by answering their questions properly. Do not ignore the letter, though, because deadlines apply. Send it to us and we will explain what it means.
What is a voluntary disclosure?
It means telling HMRC about an error or omission before they find it. HMRC generally treat unprompted disclosure more favourably when considering penalties, but every case differs and nothing is guaranteed. There may still be tax, interest and penalties to pay. We prepare the disclosure carefully and handle contact with HMRC for you.
Will you deal with HMRC for me?
Yes. Once you authorise us as your agent, we handle correspondence and meetings with HMRC. We cannot promise any particular outcome, but we will make sure your position is presented accurately, deadlines are met and you understand each step. We can only help if you want to put things right openly; we cannot help conceal anything from HMRC.
